Sizzling Spicy Squid

This recipe had been my mothers' since year 2000. I remembered the first time she made it was around May when it was the feast of our patron saints. I can still remember how spicy it was, and how she cooked it just before serving them because she didn't want the squid to become chewy. As to where she got the idea of cooking this sizzling spicy squid I don't have any idea. Maybe she saw it on some cooking show because she loved to watch them. I still remember watching Cooking with Yan with her during weekends back in the days. So after living abroad for awhile and having a vacation in the Philippines, I ventured into trying some new restaurants. Those that serve Filipino cuisine with a twist, there were a lot of them now. But I like Kanin Club...in fact I maybe doing some of the dishes that they serve in my upcoming recipes...So watch out for them here! And to start with, I'll share the recipe for the Sizzling Spicy Squid. Again, how spicy you want it depends on your taste buds and you can always adjust the ingredients to your liking.

Ingredients:
5 medium size squid cleaned and sliced
mung beans sprouts
5-6 cloves garlic minced
1 small onion sliced
1 carrot sliced
spring onions sliced
2 tbsp. vegetable oil
1 tsp sesame oil
2-3 tbsp. oyster sauce
***crushed chilli adjust to your taste
In a pan, put oil, sauté half of the garlic and onion
till golden brown. Then, add the squid. Stir occasionally
and cook for 3-5 minutes or till the squids are tender.
Do not overcook!!!Transfer to a plate.
Now, you have them on two separate plates. Mix
them together, then add sesame oil and oyster sauce.
Stir well before putting them on a sizzling plate.
Optional, you can add red bell peppers too if you want!
Add a tsp of butter on a sizzling plate, let it melt. Then,
add the mixture of squid and the stir fried veggies.
Add crushed chilli. Stir well. Garnish with sesame seeds.
Serve while still hot...Enjoy!
