Super Easy Taho Recipe

Tahoooo! As the magtataho in our neighborhood would yell in the morning back when I was a kid. And every morning, we were there waiting and ready with our cups. Nowadays, they will hand it to you on a plastic cup the big one will cost you Php 10 or 15. I've missed this so much every time I visit the Philippines, I would wait for the magtataho to get a cup just like old times. Taho is a nutritious snack being 180 calories per cup, just don't put too much sugar syrup though. You can sip it with a straw or use a spoon to scoop them from the cup. I like it straight from the cup without stirring, just my preference.

Taho as we all know is from soft or silken tofu topped with sago pearl and sugar syrup. Best served when it is still warm. Well, I found that it is not that hard to make anyway if you follow this recipe...my style! So for your super easy Taho recipe, here it goes...

Ingredients:
Silken tofu
Sago (Sweet tapioca Pearl)
Caramelized sugar
Warm the silken tofu and sago pearl for
30-45 seconds in the microwave oven.
Remove excess water.

Add the sugar syrup about 2 tbsp
 (adjust to your taste).
You can warm it again for another
30-45 seconds.
Enjoy(",)

TIPS***
  • To make the sugar syrup: heat 1 cup water in a saucepan till it's boiling then add 1 cup sugar. Mix and simmer for 1 minute.
  • Soft or silken tofu can be used, but I prefer silken tofu!
